Long Plastics has always had a practice of research and development into new products and applications for the use of moulded EPS.

In addition, Long Plastics has followed developments in the similar materials Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) and Expanded Polypropylene (EPP), with a view of making these available where applications are found.

New process developments and improvements are closely monitored and developments such as ‘Skin Moulding’ and ‘Film Lamination’ have been investigated with a view to offering them in the New Zealand market.

Considerable research and development is taking place in the field of ‘Bio Polymers’ and Long Plastics is participating in the development of mouldable, degradable foam polymers.
